Homemade Potato Chips Recipe
Potato Chips Ingredients
* PAM no-stick spray* 1 potato (or more), sliced paper thin
* salt to taste
Directions
1. Slice potatoes as thin as possible by whatever method you have available.A potato peeler works, a hand grader/slicer may be used; or a sharp knife if you have a steady hand.
2. Spray a microwave proof plate generously with PAM no-stick spray.
3. Spread the potato slices out on the plate and spray with PAM. Turn over and spray other side with PAM.
4. Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the plate so they are not touching each other.
5. Cook in the microwave on "high" for 3 to 5 minutes.
6. If the chips are brown, taste one. They should be crisp.
7. If needed, continue cooking and tasting in 30 second intervals until chips are the way you want them.
8. Remove from microwave and toss with salt.
9 Continue process with remainder of the potato slices.
Notes:
1. Microwaves vary greatly, so you will have to experiment with the first batch of chips to determine the cooking time required for your microwave.
2. In addition to salt, you may try tossing the cooked chips with, garlic powder, dill weed, chili powder or whatever you can imagine.
